For the Steak:
- 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
For the Fried Brussels Sprouts:
- 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the Steaks
- Season the Steaks: Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat Skillet: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it’s very hot.
- Cook the Steaks: Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- Add Butter and Herbs: During the last minute of cooking, add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks as they finish cooking.
- Rest the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, tented with foil, for about 5 minutes.
