Steak and Fried Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For the Fried Brussels Sprouts:

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

 

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the Steaks

  1. Season the Steaks: Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  1. Preheat Skillet: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it’s very hot.
  1. Cook the Steaks: Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  1. Add Butter and Herbs: During the last minute of cooking, add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks as they finish cooking.
  1. Rest the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, tented with foil, for about 5 minutes.
