Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare the Dish
- Preheat the Oven:
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Baking Dish:
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or a thin layer of oil. This will help prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
2. Assemble the Base
- Layer the Potatoes:
- Evenly spread the 6 cups of frozen shredded hash browns along the bottom of the baking dish. Press lightly so the potatoes form a uniform layer.
- Add the Toppings:
- Sprinkle the grated Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the hash browns.
- Distribute the diced ham evenly on top of the cheese.
- Scatter the chopped green onions over the mixture.
3. Prepare the Custard
- Mix the Custard:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 8 beaten eggs and both cans of evaporated milk.
- Add ½ teaspoon garlic salt and ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
- Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
