Instructions
1. Prepare the Caramel Sauce
- Combine and Boil:
- In a medium saucepan, mix 1 cup sugar with ½ cup water.
- Place over medium heat and stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
- Allow the mixture to boil without stirring until it turns a deep golden color and thickens.
- Transfer:
- Immediately pour the hot caramel sauce into the bottom of your glass baking dish, tilting the dish if needed to evenly coat the bottom. Set aside.
2. Make the Flan Custard
- Blend the Ingredients:
- In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, 2 cups milk, 4 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 cup heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
- Assemble:
- Pour the blended custard mixture over the caramel layer in the baking dish. Ensure it’s distributed evenly.
